WELDING TREATMENT: both the arrangement for the calking tool and the cleaning of the welded seams are considered the core operations during the pipes' layer. During the layer sessions, all the exploited tools are expected to be at the top in order to face up to hard working environmental conditions. The U series twist knot circular brushes (pls. see page. 26), provided with diameter from 100 mm. up to 180 mm., are 13 mm. thick at face width and particularly indicated for both the second scrubbing session and for removing hard-to-scrub slugs. The UZ series, twist knot circular brushes, from 115 mm. up to 178 mm. diameters, are 6 mm. thick at face width and provided with a larger number of knots. They are particularly indicated for the first scrubbing session and for removing hard-to-reach slugs at any small size. The wire's chemical composition and mechanical performing record, along with the outstanding manufacturing procedures offer the users both high results for aggressiveness and durability. Together with the above-cited types of brushes, SIT is pleased to provide the TU series, twist knot cup brushes, (pls. see page 32), from 70 mm. up to 150 mm. diameters, with both 1 and 2 twist knot rows. They are indicated for cleaning purposes, in order to remove thick and persistent slugs over constant surfaces. The RUBBER BONDED CIRCULAR BRUSHES, the CV series, available with 178 mm. diameter and 6 mm. face width (pls. see page 27), are assembled with steel wires inner ring properly bonded into a polyurethane solution. Their principle benefits are here below listed: a regular trim wear out, a constant and regular abrasive face width, a lack of the wires break-down and a consequent higher user's safety during the working session. CONCRETE COATING: this treatment allows to lay upon the outer pipe's surface a cement coating. This is indicated for undersea pipelines, as the cement coating provides the pipes a reliable protection and a consistent increase in weight. During the treatment, the cement is sprinkled all over the outer surface of the pipe along with a cylindrical brush assembled in many INCO rings, all provided with dragging pins. The wire mounted onto these rings is a crimped steel wire manufactured in order to resist to the highest stress possible. |
COATING TREATMENT: on this purpose, SIT suggests superior quality hardened steel twist knot circular brushes, assembled in various rings supplied either in single rings or assembled ANU. These brushes are indicated for the CUT BACK (carrying away Polyethylene, Polypropylene or Epoxy resins from the pipes' edges). When ANU is provided with adjustable diameter the rings are manufactured with diverse outer diameters, so that it is possible to come to a complete coated pipes' edging treatment (as defined as "flute's lip", inner core and calking tool), all at once.
