Brushes for Tyre Retreading Industry - Spazzole per la Ricostruzione Pneumatici

In the tyre retreading Industry, brushes play a very important role,
as they are strictly connected to the different working processes,
without which it would be quite impossible to obtain a high quality
product.

INITIAL INSPECTION: the cleaning treatment of the casing
where mud, any kind of slags can be collected, thanks to the
exploitation of cylindrical brushes filled with either synthetic or
metal wires, is extremely useful to the operator for carefully
checking the casing’s conditions.
BUFFING TREATMENT: it is necessary for removing the worn out
tyre tread stuck upon the casing, using Liz steel cord wheel
brushes at outer diameter from 100 up to 230 mm and face width
from 15 up to 65 mm. After an initial buffing treatment, it will be
possible to brush the casing sides and remove the little rubber
slugs located in the center of the casing. This will totally round the
casing and grant the tyre a higher performance on the road. Liz
steel cord shaped wheel brushes are recommended for brushing
and cleaning casing beads.
OTHER APPLICATIONS: horse hair or thin brass filled linear
brushes properly mounted onto supporting tapes are ideal for
fumes, duff and other rubber slag sealing.

REPAIRS: during this phase, arbor holed or shaft mounted wheel
brushes filled with steel wires, from 40 up to 80 mm. outer
diameter, are particularly apt. They can be mounted onto eletrical
or air tools and will remove rubber from tyre craters.
For removing the exceeding rubber from the casing metal tread, it
will be recommended to exploit rubber bonded shatf mounted
wheel brushes, from 50 up to 70 mm. outer diameters.

TREAD BUILDING: cylindrical brushes filled with nylon wires,
properly shaped are very suitable for tread building and sticking
the lower layer band upon the tyre. Moreover, smaller cylindrical
brushes filled with nylon wires are required for sticking
anticracking band upon the casing sides.
PRECURED TYRE TREAD: for a perfect tyre tread rubber bonding
treatment, it is essential to roughen the precured tyre tread inner
side. This is possible using high density LIZ steel cord cylindrical
brushes, duly mounted onto required brushing sets.
According to the incidental percentage of rubber inside the
replacing band, LIZ steel cord brushes in various sizes are
available. For much more aggressive brushing sessions, it could
be possible to use single brass plated steel wire.
For pitched precured tyre tread, along with the above-cited types
of brushes, other crimped wheel brushes 60 mm wide can be
recommended, especially for roughening the concave pitches
located on the precured tyre tread bands sides.
In order to get rid of rubber duff due to the brushing session, it is
possible to use cylindrical brushes filled with Nylon wires.
OTHER APPLICATIONS: Wheel and shaft mounted end brushes,
onto air or electrical tools are ideal for cleaning rubber bonding
moulds during the Hot Stamping Process.
